Ecovillage 101
Ecovillage 101
For the first time this year, we offer The Ecovillage 101 program which takes you in the heart of Ecovillage Cite Ecologique of New Hampshire. This program is an introduction to the four fundamental Dimensions of sustainable development:ecological, social, economic and worldview. Each day we will approach some problematic solutions and initiatives that already exist, build new ideas together, and share with you the 30 years experience we have gained on the field. Participants will experience lectures, pragmatic workshops, activities, and a lot of fun and personal discoveries. Each day, you will discover one of the dimensions and its importance and application in any sustainable initiative. Here is a quick overview and explanation of each of the four Dimensions that will be explored: In the Social Dimension you will learn how to better understand yourself and the others in order to build strong connections together, tools for conflict resolution and effective collective decision-making. The Economic Dimension will bring some insights on designing economic model more respectful of the environment and people, and tools promoting entrepreneurship that will support needs and sustainable values. In the Worldview aspect you will apprehend the role of culture, education, health and wellness (for self and planet). You will also learn tools to harmonize yourself and reconnect with nature. In the Ecological Dimension, you will focus on how to integrate practices that are truly eco-friendly while maintaining or even enhancing your quality of life. This program has been inspired by the International organization Gaia Education. Gaia EDE course aims to equip participants to become designers and change agents taking active roles in their communities, institutions and neighborhoods in sustainable initiatives to reach a more connected and meaningful life. Gaia Education draws the EDE curriculum based on the four Dimensions of sustainability. All of this shared through the experience and expertise of a network of some of the most successful Ecovillage and Community projects around the world. ***Please call or email to reserve your place
