Sunday on the Steinway with Susan Zizza, Musician and Historian
Susan will play selections from Big Band favorites to Broadway and Folk. Interwoven through the concert will be the story of the Steinway’s journey to the Tillotson Center and historical tidbits from these musical eras.
Proceeds from this concert go to support the Colebrook Area Historical Society. This concert features Susan Zizza, local musician and historian. Admission $10. at the door.
Historical tidbits sprinkled through the event will also highlight musical geniuses of the 20th century, such as George Gershwin and Cole Porter, as well as the minds fueling the golden age of musicals, including Rodgers and Hammerstein. The afternoon will take the audience into the heyday of folk music, with offerings from Bob Dylan to Simon and Garfunkel to John Denver.
Susan Zizza has performed with the Isley Mist Ceilidh and the Folk Tree. As an author and journalist, she has focused her writings on the first half of the 20th century, with several books featuring regional history from this era. She is donating her performance in support of the Colebrook Area Historical Society.
