Great North Woods Committee for the Arts
- Arts, Culture & Entertainment
The Great North Woods Committee for the Arts / Center for the Arts was created on May 3, 2003, during a community summit. In 2006, the GNWCA received its non-profit status from the IRS.
Our first concerts were the Winter Warmers series, started in 2005 as a fundraising effort. Since then, we have hosted hundreds of concerts throughout northern New Hampshire, open mics, and many other entertainment activities at a variety of venues.
On July 9, 2018, we purchased the historic Shrine of Our Lady of Grace in Columbia which is under rehabilitation to become a large venue for all arts-related activities.
Arts partners include the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts (music entertainment); the Carriage Lane Players (theatrical entertainment); the Connecticut River Artisans Group (visual arts); and Arts and Crafts spearheaded by local resident Lindy Falconer.
The property will also be used as an events center. Watch our calendar listings for exciting activities!
